Volunteer Opportunities at CNGR

Help Us to Help Them

The Crisis Nursery provides a safe nurturing environment for children from newborn to age six whose families are in crisis. Our volunteers touch a child’s life in many meaningful ways.

The success of the Crisis Nursery of Greater Rochester depends heavily on the work of volunteers who assist our staff in countless significant roles. Please take a look at the following volunteer opportunities and contact Maureen Chisholm at (585) 235-5750 or via our contact form for more information.

Child Care

Work directly with children by providing emotional support for children by rocking, holding, and talking. Care for the physical needs of the children by feeding, bathing, dressing, etc.

Enrichment Activities

Help children in activities such as story telling, singing, reading aloud, playing, talking, walking, etc.

Cook / Meal Preparation

Plan a meal, purchase and donate the ingredients, and/or cook and serve a meal.

Office Support

Assist with administrative, clerical, computer, phone work and mailings.

House Maintenance

Help keep our house clean and comfortable inside and outside, dusting, vacuuming, painting, leaf and snow removal, etc.

Fundraising

Become a part of what keeps us going, join our fundraising efforts. There are many opportunities, including phone calls to acquire funds and donations, and assisting with the annual fundraising Gala.
